About Us
Together OT is a pioneering team specialising in neuroaffirming paediatric therapy for children aged 3 – 18 years. We are a neurodiverse team from a range of backgrounds. Our collective expertise includes occupational therapy, early childhood education, psychology undergrad degree, trade certificates and mothers of neurodiverse children.
We pride ourselves on doing things differently by focusing on teamwork, adaptations, and the client journey to prevent burnout.
Our approach is play-based, utilising sensory processing and a bottom-up methodology to support our clients effectively (this means you get paid to make a mess in a sensory gym).
Implement a co-therapy model with an Occupational Therapist and Occupational Therapy Assistant team for each client (which means you’re never left without a team of support staff to assist in service delivery).
See children in clinic unless there are specific goals for school that require a school observation visit once a term (no driving all over Canberra for work).
Have parents join in each therapy session as parent capacity building is a core part of the Together OT service model
The Role (We know - this is a standard description, but when you interview you’ll see how we’re different!)
Are you after a new grad year that’s a bit different from the rest? Want a learning program that covers all the foundational paediatric therapy skills while being tailored to your learning style and goals? Want the opportunity to learn rather than worrying about billables? Feel like having weekly supervision? Do you value play and engagement as the basis of all therapy sessions? Want to work in paediatrics but did not get a placement in paeds so you think you don’t have chance?
Here is an opportunity to work in an occupational therapy clinic that’s just a little bit different from the others. Come work with colour, crashmats and a supportive team!
We are seeking a New Graduate Occupational Therapist who values play, self-reflection and teamwork to join our team. This role requires a professional who values individual training, everyday learning opportunities and building therapy skills to become an adaptable, supportive and dynamic therapist who responds to the needs of the child during each session. You will be working closely with our team and the child’s support network to provide holistic care to our clients, valuing emotional regulation as the basis of therapy.
This approach ensures that you will set personal goals at 3 month intervals, which are used to guide supervision, caseload and additional training. Our program is designed to progressively enhance your skills and boost your confidence.
Key Responsibilities (This is more about YOU than us.)
Collaborate with a dynamic team to deliver innovative and tailored interventions.
Utilise a play-based, sensory processing approach to support neurodivergent clients.
Engage in continuous professional development and supervision to enhance skills and knowledge.
Adapt therapeutic strategies to meet the unique needs of each client, ensuring a personalised journey.
At the end of the 3 month onboarding, bill 5 hours per day (that’s not seeing 5 clients per day, that’s a mix of seeing clients, reports, notes, phone calls and emails. Seeing 5 kids a day and then doing all the background client work is a burnout recipe.)
Leave Benefits: Enjoy 3 weeks of sick leave and 4 weeks of annual leave.
Time in Lieu: Flexible working arrangements to support work-life balance.
About The Team (Who are these people you would be working with?)
Teamwork: We are a team first and foremost. We talk to each other about our day, share ideas & knowledge and are able to adapt our schedule to help out a teammate.
Adaptability: We are a team that is flexible and adjusts the therapy plan in real-time to meet the changing needs of the child.
Health: We understand that there are some days that you are just going to need a slow day or a day off. Our co-therapist model allows for staff to take a day for R & R or to focus on reports while the children are still supported.
Fun: We bring a sense of fun and creativity to our work, engaging children in enjoyable and therapeutic activities. There are no silly ideas when working with children.
Respect: We demonstrate respect for all individuals and all staff members, and uphold our commitment to providing inclusive and respectful care to clients and staff.
Holism: We understand the importance of holistic care and are committed to addressing the comprehensive needs of our clients.
Emotional Regulation: We value emotional regulation as the basis of therapy and incorporate this into our practice.
Please don’t apply if you:
Wish to come in, see your clients and go home without helping your teammates,
Want to manage your own diary and times for outside work appointments without any thought to your teammates,
Don’t want to engage in supervision,
Are driven by billable hours rather than client outcomes,
Prefer more school visits over clinic sessions,
Spend more time sitting with the client at a desk than playing on the floor,
Want a “one size fits all” approach with block therapy and/or for assessment & therapy models for every client,
Want a white sterile “professional” therapy clinic setting,
If this is you, I’m afraid this is not the workplace for you. We wish you all the best with your career. 😊
Qualifications (the bit we know you have down pat…)

AHPRA registration in 2025
Right to Work in Australia
Experience in paediatric setting is desirable but not essential (that’s where the training comes in 😊)
